in the cr we passed a law that president obama signed. quote, prior to making such credits and deductions available, the secretary shall certify that the exchanges verify such eligibility consistent with the requirements of the act. here's the question. are we really verifying at the front end whether a person is actually eligible for these subsidies or not? and here's why this matters. if they're not eligible for the subsidy and then once we reconcile these records, they get taxed the money back off of their refund. and so this is what i mean when i say rude awakenings. people are signing up for insurance. they're getting tax credit subsidies funded by taxpayers. the irs is already telling us they're confused about how to do this. you're not telling us whether or not you're proactively determining whether, say, an under 26-year-old is actually eligible for the subsidies you're trying to sell them and the problem is once we learn whether or not they were eligible and if they weren't, people in good faith will be signing up for subsidies that they're not eligible for. >> i think you're ask

lifetime. al gore in 1999, barack obama for president only in 2012. only for reelection and now chris christie. >> he has a long list of products he has liked to endorse. gold bond powder, the icy hot patch is among them, too. what chris christie is doing, this is really about the black vote. he is trying to argue that he can get the black vote. it looks like he is on pace to get about 30% of the black vote. he has prominent endorsement from black preachers in new jersey. he is going to be making that argument in 2013 that he is a different kind of republican. between african-americans and latinos and he is going to get a pretty good majority or slice of that in his pam f -- campaign. will there be a republican candidate who can match george bush's ratings among black folks? did very well in key states. can he match that or can he even get -- nixon got about 17% of the black vote. was on the cover of jet magazine with sammy davis jr. i think that's the question. is there going to be a republican candidate who can match that and whether or not it's christie. >> and the question, does s
, bush, 92% and barack obama coming in third at 75%. and here's a great upside down example of what this obstruction looks like. you have a situation now in which senator chuck grassley is basically saying that president obama, in trying to appoint a nominee to fill a vacant seat on that court is engaged in "court-packing." are we officially through the looking glass? >> well, i think we are in a period where it's going to be very hard for the government to function, and really, you're going to have to see a change in the parties. in california, the solution turned out to be the democrats getting the kind of majority where they could pass things without worrying about the filibusters or blocking. so, maybe that's the solution. >> yes, you just wrote a piece in which you basically think the path out of the wilderness from this sort of deadlock of obstruction and destruction and dysfunction is basically just winning all the way around. you point to california, the only way out of this is just overwhelming maximum majorities, but that's not plausible nationwide, is it? >> well, there's
. americans may not be able to keep their healthcare plans under the obama care. they have known this since 2010. kelly wright joins us now from washington with more on the huge blow to americans. >> good morning to you. the affordable care act continues to prove problematic. the president always promised if you already had health insurance you could keep your plan no matter what. now it turns out it is a promise that can be broken and likely will. there are some existing healthcare plans that people do have that don't qualify for obama care. they are pushing legislation to help consumers keep their current plan. it is causing critics to lash out at the president after lengthening the enrollment period to avoid 6 weeks to avoid fines. >> this is a law the president continues to revisit the law, he continues to make changes. this is a time to give every american an opportunity to delay it a year. >> the president still saying wd to sign up for it. >> you lack at the number of young people who want health insurance who are having trouble affording it. secretary kathleen seb beal why yous will
